Game 3 - Evil New Life - 30th November 2020
Captain's Log Stardate 57677.3
The Dying Creature
Retreating back into the central chamber, the crew opened the door to the East. Inside, they discovered a 10 foot long worm-like creature. The creature had several wounds that were seaping black oil.
Commander Tellok appeared to be very pail by now and his general demeanour was becoming erratic. The crew noticed that even Subcommander Rekar was watching the Commander carefully.
My was able to use tricorder data and some moss and fungus growing within the temple to fashion bandages and was able to coax the creature back to a semblance of health. At that point, the creature vanished like a hologram, and an earthquake ran through the structure.
From Hell
The phrase "All hell broke loose" is bandied around with far too much abandon. We have seen this happen.
As the ground shook, we heard the door in the North room open. Through the door was a hi-tech room complete with unusual consoles. As we entered, an eerie, green hologram played and showed us grainy visual of nine locations in the Milky Way:
This world
Romulus
Q’onos
Earth
An unknown world in the Gamma Quadrant
A Borg Cube
Andoria
Bajor
Trill
It was not possible to determine exactly where in each location our attention was being directed.
We also spotted two drones in the room. As the hologram finished playing, the ground shook again. This time it didn't stop. This seems to have been the last straw for Commander Tellok. He screamed "I must obey my master" and started shooting at everyone in the room indiscriminately! At the same time, the two drones started blasting away.
We started to respond with our own fire, but after a few seconds a curtain of black oil materialised in the centre of the room and a hideous alien thing emerged from it. The creature wore all black and made no attempt to communicate. As we dodged the disruptor fire it reached out and touched Thavliss. Thavliss felt the energy drain from his body and he was paralysed!
The entire structure began to collapse around us as the quakes became more violent. In the confusion, both Command Tellok and Lieutenant Callus were injured by stone falls. M7 determined that the Commander was killed and Lieutenant Callus was badly injured. The paralysis caused by the creature seemed temporary, and Thavliss was also able to escape.
We managed to dispose of the drones, but every time we put the creature down, that dreadful black oil followed it, covered it and seemed to somehow heal it. We fought a rear-guard action to get out of the temple whilst carrying the unconscious body of Lieutenant Callus. On the surface it appeared that the whole planet was shaking and so we quickly contacted the Arizona and were beamed up.
It Gets Worse...
Back on the Arizona, M7 took Lieutenant Callus to sick bay. On the view screen, we could see the planet shaking itself apart. Subcommander Rekar watch with us. We moved this ship to a safer distance and we were stunned to see the planet collapse in on itself, like a miniature black hole was forming at its centre. From the centre of this nothing, an enormous, continent-sized black/green tentacle emerged, grasping out into space. There was a momentary flash as it contacted something unseen, and for a brief moment, we saw a Romulan D'Deridex decloak an its superstructure fractured. The there was an explosion as it was destroyed instantly with all hands on board. Finally, the tentacle seemed to get sucked back into the centre of the nothingness and a moment later space was still and empty. The planet, the D'Deridex and the tentacle were gone. Just gone.
It Gets Worse Again...
As we watched the view screen in shock, the colour drained from Subcommander Rekar's face. For a few moments, I did not know what to say. And then a perimeter alarm went off.
"incoming warp signature, Sir!"
And on the screen, from nowhere, without warning, appeared The Planet Killer.
And the adventure continues...
