We discovered that Maz Rackham (who was quite insane from his experience) had previously been an administrator at Camp Snug Lake. Apparently this was a Trill Initiate training camp in the remote wilds of Trill. As the Trill government and emergency services were in disarray, we beamed down to investigate.
When we arrived we discover the Initiates and their instructors reassembling the primitive camp which was severely damaged in the storm. We gathered everyone together and tried to get them to remain together, however they were not completely compliant!
We discussed Maz with the rest of the team at the camp, and although they all confirmed he was a bit of a loner, no-one thought anything unusual of him.
We ventured into the caves to see the Trill pools where the unjoined symbionts lived. The pools were supervised by Guardian Sams. Like all Guardians, he was a bit odd and did not take kindly to our attempts to interfere with the pools. We attempted to take samples of the water stealthily, but we were all thumbs and Sams freaked when he saw what we were doing. Thavliss temporarily declared martial law and pointed a gun at the Guardian to keep hm quiet. We apologised and left, but I think it is fair to say that we did not make any friends!
Back at the camp we discovered that a theatre troupe was visiting and they had been located since the extreme weather began. They had been rehearsing in one of the local caves. We approached the cave to discover that the weather had caused the already geologically unstable area to become even less stable. This resulted in the cave entrance collapsing.
Coincidentally, as we were travelling, Thavliss was reading his latest issue of Phasers And Plasma and cooing over the various settings on the new phaser rifle. I have no idea what that boy is thinking sometimes! We quickly determined that phasering the unstable structure was a poor idea, and so we started to dig the entrance out by hand.
Finally, the entrance was cleared and the motley troupe emerged. As they made their exit, the entire cave collapsed. A short man at the front went sheet white and collapsed.
